Screen Nominations for Best Background Score

Yet another instance to understand how bad the recognition for background score composers is in Indian Cinema. Vishal-Shekhar is nominated for Best background score, though Sandeep Chowtha is the actual background score composer of Om Shanthi Om. Also, Daniel B.George's background score for Jhonny Gaddar deserves a nomination.

And IR did not even get a whiff of the nominations despite producing a soundtrack better than all the soundtracks nominated there.

Chandrasekhar - Easily the Illayaraja's background score for Cheeni Kum was the best. But in an industry, where the film makers and audience feel and believe thinks Salim-Sulaiman's scores as the best, you cannot expect them to understand the brilliance and nuances of Raaja's scores...

Even when the movie Cheeni kum released i wonder how many reviews up north cared to even mention Raja's work (songs and bgm) let alone appreciating it. I just got enormously fed-up and left it at that.

oh my goodness, what nonsense is this! I'm not even one who watches hindi movies frequently and even I knew the background score was not by Vishal-Shekhar. This is just ridiculous.
