This is a great post. I've always admired the bgm score of Lagaan and still listen it sometimes. But I've never been able to analyze so much and express them in words.Really awesome!
Arun - Thanks.
Brilliant Analysis..have also appreciated a good background score..but have never been able to understand it so well!
wow.. i luv this review as much as lagaan's BGM :) keep it up..
great analysis. keep continuing such reviews.
mindblowing analysis...thanks a lot!....... didn't realise that lagaan's score is so well thought out..........have you done swades' analysis too?
Ishaan - Thanks. I haven't done for Swades yet.
Really great job in reviewing the BGM of Lagaan !
Wow! Mind blowing score by ARR! One of the best bgm score (and also soundtrack) from Indian. Thanks for the great review and the clips.
This is a fantastic post Suresh! Lagaan is my favorite movie of all time, and I did a series of posts on it here. Thanks for this brilliant breakdown. I'll link to it some time if that's okay with you.
I wonder if any film music label like Intrada or Varese can get this released someday? An excellent score!
I think "Lagaan" is Rahman's best work in recent times as far as BGM is concerned. I don't know how many times I'm gonna mention this but well written Suresh.
Fan - Yes. It is indeed his best and Thanks for reading and expressing your opinion all my write-ups here...
Great Post... I have my self heard Lagaan music many times. And I too have been able to make the same connections between the BMG and the characters. But I never had the patience to write it down and share. Always thought I am the only one who delvs in such subtle areas. Thanks a lot the post, and also the Youtube media that you have uploaded.
Prasanth - Thanks man. It is good to know there are so many people around who are as passione about bgms as me, it is just that they don't speak out as I do...
THIS IS THE BEST BACKGROUND SCORE WRITTEN IN BOLLYWOOD EVER.
one of the best things i have ever encountered over the internet.thanks!!!!!!!!
superb. sometimes I wonder why I repeatedly see the film for a countless times though I don't understand any hindi conversation. Now I found that BGM holds the key from your post. Can you do the same for swades as well
