KK - You got the first film right. Didn't get the other ones?

Sreevatsan - I usually don't provide download links but it is so easy to extract mp3 from these players. Google it.

mr.weirdo!! - You got em right.

And

No. I am not going to insult anyone. Why should I? After all, when I watched these films as a kid, I succumbed to these very background score pieces and have wept or laughed. It is a genuine tribute from one-time fan to the film director and to the typical background music in his films.

Rajesh - You got 1 and 2 right.

But I can understand why and how you guessed the third piece as that film.

Poove Unakkaga and Suryavamasam. I believe after IR, SAR is the best when it comes to comedy scenes. In fact, I thought of writing this to u so long ago, somehow U came out with it.

Nice bgms from Vikraman films.

1) Pudhu Vasantham - lovely bgm by S A Rajkumar. The bass line sounds IR-ish.

2) Is it the madhavan film, priyamana thozi, music: S A Rajkumar? or the surya starrer, unnai ninaithu, music: Sirpi? Or is it anandham

3) Suryavamsham - sarath kumar double action, music: S A Rajkumar.

I was (and still am) of the opinion that S A Rajkumar has the same exact formula for songs and bgms. Only when listening to Sirpi's numbers and bgm from unnai ninaithu, I realized that it was director Vikraman calling the shots. But then again Vikraman has done pudhiya mannargal with ARR and chennai kadhal with Joshua Sridhar.

Krishna - You got them right.

The comedy theme is kinda okay but when I watch these films now, it is really annoying to listen to those stock sound tones used to tickle the funny bones at the end of each and every comic line or comic expressions. IR used these tones minimally with a lot of restraint, but there is an overkill of it in all the films of this director-composer combo.

P.S. Suresh Kumar said...

Ramesh - You got the film for BGM piece 3 right.

Almost all the films of this director and composer combo had same type of music and hence your confusion. Any bgm piece from any of the films (of this director) would work perfectly well in any of their other films.

No 1 was poove unakkaga. I know for sure. I think I wrongly mentioned it as pudhu vasantham.

No 2 - since you mentioned i am wrong. May be this one is pudhu vasantham. but again i may be wrong.

P.S. Suresh Kumar said...

Ramesh - Now you the film for 1 right and 2 is still wrong.

1) Thullaatha manamum thullum
2) Sooryavamsam

P.S. Suresh Kumar said...

Srijith Unni - Though you guessed the first one wrong, it is an interesting guess. You got the second one right.

Its Vikraman-S.A.Rajkumar combo.
1. Suryavamsam/Vaanathai Pola
2. Unnai Ninaithu
3. Unnidathil yennai koduthaen

It could be any of these movies that these scores would fit.

Anon - "It could be any of these movies that these scores would fit" - True.

But the pieces are not from the films that you mentioned.

I felt the starting portion was very similar to the prelude in "Innisai paadi varum". Did you also notice that ?

P.S. Suresh Kumar said...

Srijith Unni - Oh, yes. I did.
