Answer for Background Score - 6

This piece is from 'Kudaikkul Mazhai' composed by Karthik Raja. This piece is used for a very imaginative scene in the movie where Parthiban madly dances with a saree. The main melody of this piece is also used at many places in the movie as mobile ringtone. In addition to this piece, there are so many moments in the movie that has brilliant score by Karthik Raja. I am still searching for a DVD of this movie to rip the score.

This is a beautiful score. A good exploration of the melody of the nice song 'Adiye KiLiye' from the same film - sung by Raaja.

Karthik Raaja - with some more fine-tuning - can carry forward the style of Ilaiyaraaja. I feel he is yet to get his fair share of praise. If he does some refining (though I am not qualified enough to define the "refinement" required), then he would get his due.

Yuvan has done some fusion, taking the best of Raaja and involving some Rahman-like sound and digitalisation. Though it is entertaining, it is not much original or touching.

Anyways, only one Raaja ! Others can at best strive to be LIKE him.

Venky - I agree with you about Karthik Raja. I don't think his music needs any fine tuning, but he should get some good projects and talented directors as Yuvan got when he was coming up.... he needs a challenging script... I think most of KR's time is spent in assiting his father than making anything for his own....
